KRIPTA, Best in class
With 20 years of professional experience, he makes his first KRIPTA bottles in his private winery in Can Rossell with a blend from three unique plots in the Penedès.
Macabeo, Xare·lo and Parellada begin a long aging with cork stopper, obtaining a unique bouquet that consolidates it as one of the great wines of the world.
The amphorae shape bottle, which was designed and patented, is a tribute to Ancient Rome. The label was designed by Rafael Bartolozzi and evokes the Mediterranean Sea of Cadaqués, the vine and the olive tree: a trilogy of the classics.
KRIPTA has been the most awarded cava since its first gold medal in Bratislava in 1984. Every vintage is an award that reinforces excellence.
Vicari vineyard. Sant Pau d’Ordal.
Goblet pruning vineyard planted in 1962 at 239 meters high in a gravel terrain with a lot of drainage. With an average production of 6000 kg/ha, with a thin skin and a crowded appearance, it is the most delicate variety of the three and the main basis of Kripta. It provides fineness, elegance and white fruit notes.
Mercader vineyard. Sant Sadurní d’Anoia
This trellised vineyard was planted in 1974 for more foliar exposure at 162 meter above sea level in a clay and calcareous soil. With loose grain and thick soil, it is the most rustic and strong variety. It provides alcoholic power, body and structure.
Lola vineyard. Sant Joan de Mediona.
It was planted in 1969 in Sant Joan de Mediona at 650 meters of altitude where it grows with special notes of mineral salinity. With thick grain and skin, at this altitude it enjoys an excellent day/night heat exchange, especially important for growing under the fresh mountain air. It confers a great concentration of aromas and provides acidity and tropical notes.
